Irish Wildbird Conservancy
An organisation founded in 1968 to promote bird conservation and research in the Republic of Ireland, being the Irish equivalent of the British Trust For Ornithology and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds combined. It co-operates closely with British organisations and now publishes the annual journal 'Irish Birds'. IWC headquarters are at the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin. From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
