Supplanting (attack)
A type of aggressive behaviour in which an individual flies at another which is perched, and when the latter flees the former simply lands on the spot just vacated. Supplanting attacks are seen during courtship and in the defence or acquisition of territory.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
