An annual survey organised by the British Trust For Ornithology and begun in 1939 as the 'Hatching and Fledging Enquiry'. Contributors complete special cards with such details as nest site, number of eggs or young and eventual outcome.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
