Display flight
An aerial part of courtship, involving one or both of a pair, in which a special mode of flying and distinctive call notes may be used. The butterfly flight of the Ringed Plover Charadrius hiaticula and the bat-like performance of the Greenfinch Carduelis chloris are examples of display flights. From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
