Occasional wild pairs breed in Scotland and even Ireland now, but a colony regularly breeding on Orkney stopped as early as about 1770. Mixed pairs with Mute Swans sometimes reported and up to two dozen feral pairs reported too. Overall less than 5 pairs successful in any year.
