Swinhoe's Petrel (Swinhoe's Storm-Petrel)

Oceanodroma monorhis

This browner cousin of the Leach's Petrel breeds in the western Pacific. However females have been trapped in Europe, including some with brood patches, and three have been caught on the coast of Tyne and Wear in the summer (1989 — 1993) — one individual in all of the last four of these years. Who knows what they are doing!
