Brambling

Fringilla montifringilla

UK ConservationBlank Face

This finch is a winter visitor to Britain and Ireland and summering records are not uncommon, normally after winters when there have been large numbers. Two summer records have been in Ireland and most of the rest in Scotland and eastern England. Breeding may have taken place a few times before being successful in 1982 (Inverness). Potential breeding records over the 10 years 1988-97 total 24 with a maximum of eight (1995) and one year (1996) with none. Coming?
