Wing tag
A small clip fixed to the leading edge of a bird's wing so that it can be recognised as belonging to the marked population and its movements can be followed. A wing tag may also be called a 'patagial tag' because it is clipped to the patagium. The wing tag is a method of marking best used on relatively large birds. From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
