Tubenose
A member of the order Procellariiformes, which contains the petrels and shearwaters. They have tubular nostrils lying along the top surface of the upper mandible, perhaps associated with thte excretion of excess salt or with a sense of smell which may be better developed than in most birds.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
