Song flight
Aerial production of song, as opposed to the use of a song post. Some flights are typical of, but not confined to, those species which live in open types of habitat where elevated song posts may not be available, for example the Skylark Alauda arvensis and Meadow Pipit Anthus pratensis. There is some overlap between the concept of a song flight and that of a display flight. From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
