Plunge diving

Dropping from a height into the water in order to catch fish. Although various piscivorous birds use this method of catching food, for example terns (family Sternidae) and the Kingfisher Alcedo atthis, the most spectacular plunge diving is seen in the Gannet Sula bassana.
