Perching duck
A member of the tribe Cairinini in the family Anatidae, these birds having the habit of perching on trees. The only British examples are the Wood Duck Aix sponsa and the Mandarin A. galericulata, and these are only present through introduction by man.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
