Ovary
The organ which produces the egg. Female birds have two ovaries, one on each side of the body, but in almost all cases only the left-hand one is developed and functional. A working ovary resembles a very tiny bunch of grapes in appearance.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
