Mounted specimen
A stuffed skin set up for display in as lifelike a position as possible, usually with some indication of habitat around it. Although they are now mainly associated with museums, during Victorian times mounted specimens in glass cases were much in vogue as ornaments for private houses.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
