Icterid

A member of the family Icteridae, which contains the American or New World 'blackbirds' or 'orioles', unrelated either to the (Old World) Blackbird Turdus merula or to the (Old World) orioles (family Oriolidae). Two species of icterid have wandered to the British Isles, namely the Bobolink Dolichonyx orizivorus and the Northern Oriole Icterus galbula.
