Histogram
A diagram showing a set of figures (values) divided into classes, each of which is represented on a graph by a bar or block (hence the alternative terms 'bar-chart', 'bar-graph' and 'block diagram'). A true histogram, as used in statistical work, shows the distribution of the values around an average, but the word is often used to refer to any kind of bar-chart, for example one showing the number of birds observed each month at a particular locality.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
