Gallinaceous
Belonging to the order Galliformes, which in the British Isles contains the family Tetraonidae (grouse) and the family Phasianidae (partridges and pheasants). A gallinaceous bird may also be called a game bird.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
