Feral Pigeon
A bird decended from domestic pigeon stock but living in a feral state. These birds are common both in towns and in the countryside and may be called 'domestic', 'homing', 'lodge', 'London' or 'town' pigeons as well as 'feral' pigeons. Despite a variety of colours all are ultimately descended from the wild Rock Dove Columba livia and interbreeding between wild and feral birds has blurred the distinction between them.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
