Feral Pigeon

A bird decended from domestic pigeon stock but living in a feral state. These birds are common both in towns and in the countryside and may be called 'domestic', 'homing', 'lodge', 'London' or 'town' pigeons as well as 'feral' pigeons. Despite a variety of colours all are ultimately descended from the wild Rock Dove Columba livia and interbreeding between wild and feral birds has blurred the distinction between them.
