Contact call
A noise made by a bird as a means of keeping in touch with others of its species. The high-pitched calls of tits (family Paridae) as they move through a wood, and the twittering flight calls of finches (family Fringillidae) are examples.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
