Breeding seasonThe time of year when reproduction takes place. Its beginning is rather indeterminate, as activities which form part of the breeding cycle, such as courtship and the establishment of a territory, may precede actual nesting by many weeks. The season ends for most species with the break-up of territories and dispersal of the adult birds and their young.
