Fall

A sudden arrival of large numbers of birds at a certain point, usually coastal. Falls may occur when migration is interrupted by the rapid onset of adverse weather, such as gales or fog, and they involve mainly passerine birds. At a bird observatory a fall of migrants gives an opportunity for mass ringing.
