Deciduous

Dropping the leaves for the winter. It is not the converse of coniferous, as some conifers, for example the larch, are deciduous. Nor is it synonymous with broad-leaved, as some broad-leaved trees, for example the holly, are evergreen. 'Deciduous summer forest' forms the natural vegetation of most parts of the British Isles.
