Central focusing
The system of altering the focus of a pair of binoculars by turning a centrally placed wheel or drum which focuses each eyepiece simultaneously. The alternative arrangement, '(independent) eyepiece focusing', involves turning each eyepiece separately and is seldom found in modern instruments.From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
