Broad

A shallow lake formed in a depression caused by mediaeval peat digging. Broads are mainly found in north-east Norfolk, UK, and despite disturbance by holidaymakers are of great importance for wetland birds, notably the Bittern Botaurus stellaris and the Bearded Tit Panurus biarmicus.
