Breeding season
The time of year when reproduction takes place. Its beginning is rather indeterminate, as activities which form part of the breeding cycle, such as courtship and the establishment of a territory, may precede actual nesting by many weeks. The season ends for most species with the break-up of territories and dispersal of the adult birds and their young. From Peter Weaver's Birdwatcher's Dictionary
